1. Do I have to hold open house and have strangers walking through my home?
2. My neighbor’s fence is on my property. Will this prevent me from selling my     home?
3. When should I notify people of my change of address?

1. Do I have to hold open house and have strangers walking through my home?

A. An open house is just one of the many tools available to your agent to help them sell your home. Let your agent know of your concern, because a good agent should be able to provide you with a workable marketing plan that addresses all of your concerns.

2. My neighbor’s fence is on my property. Will this prevent me from selling my home?

A. No, this will not prevent you from selling. You may want to get something in writing between you and your neighbor, as to where the property line is in relationship to the fence, so all parties are clear as to the situation. This way, new owners of either property will have the situation disclosed to them in writing. As your neighbor may sell before you.

3. When should I notify people of my change of address?

A. Your agent will give you plenty of notice when to change your address, when to arrange movers and when to change or discontinue many of the other items such as utilities, cable and newspapers.
